Academic disciplines

The Romans invented disciplines as the legitimate storage of knowledge. That means only members of each discipline can talk/write with authority. Disciplines are colonies, and they are cleared through the same etymon: colonus. Which is also culture. Then Germans modeled disciplines that were inherited by US and Western academia. The production and construction of knowlege are transdisciplinary....That's why transdisciplinary knowledge is "natural". And in fact, with technology, disciplines are being eroded. We can no longer consider them as the legitimage storages of knowledge. The other curious thing is that literature and art history and classical music are divided into centuries. But that's another topic for another day.  Enjoy spring wherever you are.

(As an example of the breakdown: My Tamara plays the piano and other instruments. She's also a theorist and a poet. She's the sound engineer at Pancake Studio in Brooklyn NYC. And her MFA thesis analyzes sound/music in film)

To all places and events that one must go to observe aspirations of the moment.
